Benefits of the Plan
Lump Sum Cover
On diagnosis of critical illness, the plan holder shall receive a lump sum insurance cover that need not be necessarily utilized for medical expenses. It can be used for lifestyle expenses such as EMIs, education etc., as well. As a matter of fact, the maximum coverage of this plan is higher than that of most other health insurance policies in the market.
17 critical illnesses are covered under this plan which are categorized into four groups as shown below:
- One can choose either the single-claim option under which a one-time claim of the sum assured can be made, or
- The multiclaim option under which claims up to three times can be made. The best aspect of the multiclaim option is that the sum assured is payable during each claim.
Note: A minimum time gap of 365 days between two subsequent claims is mandatory.
Future Premium Waiver
With the multiclaim option, post first claim, payment of future premiums is waived. In other words, the policy holder can avail the benefits for the remaining term of the policy without having to pay anything further.
Tax benefits for the premium and claim amount are available under Section 80D and Section 10 (10D) of Income Tax Act, 1961.
